About Me
My name is Joe Devine. Hunting and Fishing has always been a part of my life. I don't remember exactly how old I was when I started fishing , but I know I was very young. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and my grandparents owned and operated Beacon Lodge located in Zapata, Texas. My Grandfather, Donald "Shortly" Hayes was a fishing guide on Falcon Lake. I recall fishing with my Grandpa when I was young. He would chum catfish with soured grain, and we would catch them on my Grandma's homemade stink bait. As I grew older I began Black bass Fishing and really developed a true passion for catching fish on lures. I spent hours pounding the banks of Falcon lake with worms and spinner baits. I loved waking up early and getting out on the lake for the beautiful boat ride and sunrise most of all.
I moved to Corpus Christi, Texas when I was a freshman in High School. I took up saltwater fishing and began learning everything I could about it. The Coastal Bend area waters were a playground for an avid angler like myself. My Dad and I spent a lot of time fishing together and still do. I knew then that Corpus Christi would always be my home. Besides serving four years away from home in the US Air Force I have been blessed to live and fish in the Corpus Christi area. Over the years I have spent countless hours on the water and it has only enhanced my passion for fishing and conservation. I truly appreciate all of the support my family has given me. Spending time on the water with friends and family has provided me with the fondest of memories. I have been given the gift of respect for nature and all of it's creatures and that gift is priceless. I am married to a very caring, loving, kind and supportive woman and have three wonderful children. I have truly been blessed.
